Spain is home to over 850,000 Moroccan nationals — the largest Moroccan community in Europe. If you hold a Moroccan passport and live in Spain, this is your complete guide to applying for a Dubai tourist visa in 2026.
Do Moroccan Nationals Living in Spain Need a UAE Tourist Visa?
Yes. Your Spain residence permit — TIE (Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero) or autorización de residencia — does not grant Moroccan passport holders UAE visa on arrival. Moroccan is not included in the UAE’s visa-on-arrival scheme, which currently covers nationals of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa only.
You must apply for a UAE tourist visa before travel, regardless of how long you have lived in Spain or which permit category you hold. The entire process is online — no embassy visit, no consulate appointment.
Which UAE Visa Should You Apply For?
Three tourist visa options for Moroccan travellers from Spain:
- 14-day single entry — for a short break or first-time visit to Dubai.
- 30-day single entry — the standard choice for a 2–4 week holiday. Most popular option.
- 60-day single entry — for longer visits, extended family stays, or if you want flexibility in your return date.
The 30-day visa suits most travellers. You can apply to extend from inside the UAE if your plans change.
Documents Required for Moroccan Applicants in Spain
- Moroccan passport — minimum 6 months validity from your travel date. No damage to the data page, all details clearly readable.
- Spanish TIE card — The physical green TIE card issued by the Policía Nacional — a NIE number on plain white paper is NOT accepted as a residence document. Scan flat, front and back, at high resolution. No shadows, no angled shots. Must be valid with at least 3 months remaining beyond your return date.
- Passport-size photograph — white background, recent photo, face clearly visible. Scanned — not photographed with a phone.
- Return flight itinerary — confirmed booking showing departure from Spain to Dubai and your return. Dates must correspond to the visa duration requested.
- Hotel reservation — confirmed for your full UAE stay. Guest name must match your passport exactly.
- Travel insurance — covering medical emergencies in the UAE for your full travel period.
If Your TIE Card Is Under Renewal
If your TIE has expired and renewal is in progress, include both the expired TIE card and the resguardo de solicitud de renovación — the official renewal receipt from the Extranjería. This combination is generally accepted by UAE immigration in place of a valid card.
How to Apply — Step by Step
Step 1 — Prepare and scan your documents
Use a flatbed scanner for all documents. The passport bio-data page must be sharp and fully legible. Scan your residence permit front and back on a flat, white surface — no shadows, no glare, no corners cropped.
Step 2 — Submit your application online
Upload all documents through our secure form. No consulate visit required. Our team submits directly to UAE immigration on your behalf.
Step 3 — File review by our team
Every file is checked before submission to immigration. If anything is missing or unclear, we contact you first — before it causes a delay or rejection. This eliminates the majority of avoidable rejections.
Step 4 — Receive your e-visa by email
Your UAE e-visa arrives as a PDF. Print it or save it to your phone. Present it at check-in and at Dubai airport. It is electronically linked to your passport — but always carry a printed copy as backup.
Processing Time and Fees
Standard processing: 4–5 working days after all correct documents are submitted. Express processing (24–48 hours) is available for urgent travel.
Current visa fees are listed on the Dubai visa fees for Moroccan nationals.
Apply at least 7–10 days before travel. Do not book non-refundable flights until your visa is confirmed.
Visa Validity vs Duration of Stay — Know the Difference
- Visa validity — the window in which you must make your first entry into the UAE. A 30-day visa issued on 1 September must be activated (first entry) before 30 September.
- Duration of stay — how many days you may remain in the UAE after arriving. On a 30-day visa, you can stay up to 30 days from your arrival date.
If you enter on day 29 of a 30-day validity visa, you have only 1 permitted day — not 30. Always enter as early as possible within the validity window.
Flights from Spain to Dubai
- Madrid (MAD) → Dubai (DXB) — Emirates operates a daily direct flight. Journey time approximately 7 hours.
- Barcelona (BCN) → Dubai (DXB) — Emirates flies direct daily from El Prat. Journey time approximately 7 hours.
- Málaga, Alicante, Valencia, Bilbao — connect via Madrid or Barcelona. Air Arabia Maroc also offers competitive connections via Casablanca (CMN) for travellers in southern and eastern Spain.
Book flights only after your visa is confirmed to avoid non-refundable losses.
What to Expect at Dubai Airport on Arrival
Dubai International Airport (DXB) handles over 85 million passengers a year. Here is what to expect:
- Immigration — join the visitor or “All Passports” lane. Have your passport and e-visa printout ready for the officer.
- Biometrics — fingerprints and facial scan taken on your first UAE entry. Standard for all visitors.
- Entry stamp — permitted stay is counted from your arrival date, not the visa issue date.
- Customs — non-Muslims may bring up to 4 litres of alcohol. Pork products are not permitted. Carry a doctor’s letter for prescription medications in significant quantities.
Extending Your UAE Visa Inside Dubai
UAE tourist visas can be extended from inside the country — no need to exit and re-enter:
- 30-day visa — extendable by a further 30 days, subject to approval and fees.
- 60-day visa — extendable by up to 30 days.
- Apply before expiry — overstaying attracts an AED 50 per day fine plus AED 100 admin fee.
- How to extend — via the GDRFA app or through a registered UAE visa agency inside Dubai.
Overstays are permanently recorded and affect all future UAE visa applications.
Travelling with Your Family
Every family member — including children and infants — requires a separate UAE visa application and separate fees. Children listed in a parent’s passport are not exempt.
Submit all family applications together. Each person needs a complete individual document set. Children under 18 typically also need a copy of their birth certificate.
Common Rejection Reasons
Most Moroccan visa rejections from Spain are avoidable. Common issues:
- Passport expiring within 6 months of travel — renew at the Moroccan consulate in Madrid, Barcelona, or Bilbao before applying.
- NIE number on paper only — no TIE card — the NIE on a white sheet is not accepted. You need the physical green TIE card from the Policía Nacional.
- Photographed documents instead of scanned — images with shadows or at an angle are rejected. Use a flatbed scanner.
- Expired TIE with no renewal receipt — if your TIE is under renewal, always attach the resguardo. A bare expired card is not accepted.
- Inconsistent travel dates — flight and hotel dates must match exactly.
- Prior UAE overstay not disclosed — UAE records are comprehensive. Any undisclosed overstay leads to rejection and possible ban.
