Dubai Visa Age Limit — Rules for Seniors and Children

Apply Dubai Visa is a DTCM-licensed agency (Licence No. 1418453) processing Dubai tourist visas directly through GDRFA. Dubai has no upper or lower age limit for tourist visas — we have processed visas for applicants up to 90 years old and for infants. Minors travelling internationally have specific document requirements that are easy to miss.

Is there an age limit for Dubai tourist visas?

No upper age limit exists. Applicants of any age — including those in their 70s, 80s, or even 90s — apply through the same standard process as any adult. Age alone is never a factor in GDRFA’s assessment. We have successfully processed tourist visas for applicants up to 90 years of age. Senior travellers are welcome in Dubai with no additional scrutiny.

No minimum age exists either. Infants and children of any age can receive their own Dubai tourist visa.

Does every person need their own visa — even children?

Yes. Every individual requires their own tourist visa — there are no family visas or child-on-parent visas for tourists in Dubai. Each family member, including infants, must have a separate application and individual visa. This applies to all nationalities including Indian passport holders, Nigerian citizens, and all other nationalities.

What extra documents do minors (under 18) need?

Birth certificate

A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required as an additional document for minor visa applications. This is not required for adult applicants — only for minors under 18.

Travelling with one parent

A minor can travel with one parent only — a NOC from the other parent is not required for a Dubai tourist visa. One parent’s details and documentation are sufficient to support the child’s application.

Standard documents still apply

The minor’s own valid passport, passport-size photo, and any nationality-specific requirements still apply in addition to the birth certificate. See Dubai visa fees and requirements for your nationality.

Are there separate visa types for children?

Multiple case options exist specifically for minor visa applications — covering scenarios such as travelling with one parent, both parents, or with a guardian. Contact our agency directly for advice on which case type applies to your situation.

Do elderly travellers face any extra scrutiny?

No. Elderly applicants — including those over 80 or 90 — are processed identically to any other adult. There is no additional scrutiny based on age and no flag placed on senior travellers’ applications by GDRFA.

Which visa type is suitable for families?

Most families apply for a 30-day tourist visa or 60-day tourist visa depending on trip length. Each family member — adults and children alike — needs their own individual visa.

Frequently Asked Questions

My child is 3 months old — can they get a Dubai tourist visa?

Yes. Infants of any age can receive a tourist visa. Apply with the birth certificate and the child’s passport through our agency.

My father is 85 — will his application be treated differently?

No. Age is not a factor in GDRFA’s assessment. We have processed tourist visas for applicants up to 90 years old without any age-related issue.

Does my child need a separate hotel booking?

No. Children travelling with parents share the same accommodation — a single hotel booking or Ejari covering the family is sufficient.

What if the child is travelling without either parent?

This falls under a specific minor case type. Contact our agency to confirm the correct documentation for a child travelling with a guardian.
