If Your Titre de Séjour Is Under Renewal
If your titre de séjour has expired and renewal is in progress, include both the expired card and the récépissé de demande de renouvellement de titre de séjour — the temporary certificate issued by the préfecture. Visa Validity vs Duration of Stay — Know the Difference
- Visa validity — the window in which you must make your first entry into the UAE. A 30-day visa issued on 1 September must be activated (first entry) before 30 September.
- Duration of stay — how many days you may remain in the UAE after arriving. On a 30-day visa, you can stay up to 30 days from your arrival date.
If you enter on day 29 of a 30-day validity visa, you have only 1 permitted day — not 30. Always enter as early as possible within the validity window.

UAE tourist visas can be extended from inside the country — no need to exit and re-enter:
